I built an elephant, side view. I made the full Bone rig for the torso, legs, and head, which work fine. For the trunk and tail, I decided it might be easiest to control them using a series of poses for the various trunk and tail positions as Switch Layers, as they were easy to draw and sequence as Switch Layers. They Switch fine, now I am trying to connect the trunk to the head so it moves with the head when Manipulated with Bones.
Is there a way to Bind a Switch or Group Layer to a Bone in the Bone Layer? I can't figure it out. Thanks all.
Can Switch or Group Layers be assigned to a Bone?

- The layer you want to bind must be inside the bone layer.
- Select Layer Bind tool, select layer, select bone.
- Select Layer Bind tool, select layer, select bone.

Just drag the switch layer on top of the bone layer
Then bind the switch layer to the proper bone
You do that by selecting the switch layer in the layers palette
Then select the bind layer tool in the tools palette
Then click on the bone You want the switch layer to follow

Thanks, guys. It seems I was just off in my command sequence but the trunk seems attached now. Sometimes the obvious is right in front of your nose (or trunk), but you can't see it. Much appreciated.
