Lava Lamp Effect

Post by DK »

Hi.
I am working on a project where a character goes behind lettering that is filled with a lava Lamp effect. I need the characters silhouette or even the character's body to take on this effect where bits of him elongate and travel upwards. Any ideas how i might achieve this?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

I think you need to work in two steps.

First you animate the lava in the lamp: slowly drifting lumps etc.

Second you apply the character into this. I'd work with bitmaps and distort them with bones, but that's up to your taste.

I'd simply make a lava lamp effect in Blender then use a mask, should be easy enough for you!
