importing from Poser problem

I have anime studio pro 9.5 and poser 9.

I am exporting an animal out of poser (I followed a video tutorial). When I import the 3d obj in to anime studio the figure is all black. When I import from Poser is the figure supposed to look like it does in poser?

When I try and import a Poser scene I get an error that says "error importing poser object. poser application either not found or serialized. please use application preferences to locate poser application folder.

my poser is serialized and the preferences in anime studio show poser in the correct place.
