2d Character Rigging Reel

Post by Víctor Paredes »

Hi, after seeing the reception Making of Book day card had, and thinking about Heyvern's AS demo reel, I decided to create my own character rigging reel, taking a lot of projects where I have worked.
You can't find many videos showing cool 2d rigs in youtube (a lot of 3d, but almost nothing of 2d) and Heyvern's demo is cool, but his style of rigging is dense, which -in my opinion- can give newbies a wrong idea about how easy is rigging in AS. So my idea with this short video was to show how simple but powerful can be an Anime Studio Pro rig.
It includes many characters structures you probably knew and some new or never showed stuff. I hope you like it :)

Wow! Selgin that was amazing and, yes, there was quite a lot of work there that was new to me and made my jaw drop.

What's amazing about this type of reel... even with short fast blast of information you can still learn a lot watching it. Especially with your elegant minimalistic rigging technique. I am always amazed at how much range of motion you can get with such a simple rig. The stuff you do just blows my freaking mind. You are the definition of thinking outside the box. Great inspiration.

p.s. Yes, my rigs are dense... dense rigging.
It must be really cold, because my background in 3D rigging is poking through my shirt :). Smart bones is going to help with that. :)
