Best comercial characters?

Yeah, I've actually been spending most of my time with the CW characters, practicing walk cycles and stuff. The 'technical' side of it all is more a chore to me than the cool puzzle it probably is to others. Definitely it is easy to get lost in the technical stuff when you are kind of creatively stumped regarding storylines. The stuff in my head is too complex for my animation skills at this point too. since it is basically an end-to-end tutorial, it won't cover the complex stuff but looks like it hits all the basics. Any thoughts on this?

I may be biased here since I won the contest that was based on that tutorial, but feedback I've seen has been mostly positive.

This is the only end-to-end project based tutorial I'm aware of. I was curious enough to try it myself. Since I'm an experienced user already I tended to use my favored techniques than what Chad describes in the videos, but the material is thorough and explained well.

Also, there is the challenge of coming up with your own ending, which may stimulate your own creavity in that regard.

As for the complex stuff, I'd recommend just learning to use AS out of the box and put off tool scripts and specialized rigs for now. You know, walk before you run, right?

Ah that was helpful neeters_guy, I'll try watching more of those, I'm seeing that they are a bunch of different spins on the story, i can try making it some hippy peaceful thing without the violence maybe but it seems like a good project until I develop some stories I really want to tell. I do think I need the end to end experience so it might be the best way to 'train me up' in Anime Studio. Thanks for the link!

Yes, I believe so, the video part anyway. The CP version offers additional content such as project and character files.

Oh yeah, I eventually found that. I don't believe I need the files, since the point is to build it myself, but if I find it really rewarding I should probably go ahead and buy the files anyhow. That's a pretty generous service and I should try and reciprocate if I find it useful.
