Texture Time!

Finally spring kicked in in Berlin, so I went out and took some pictures. Half-frozen puddles, pebbles and sand, moss on concrete ... I can only recommend to go out for texture hunting.

This lamp post especially caught my attraction, it was just recently scrapped of all the posters glued on it. I went around it two times, later stitched the images together. Perfect! I intend to use this texture often.

And since I feel generous today, here's the two texture images in full resolution.

Experiment with inverting, curve correction, colouring etc. Have fun!

If you don't have Photoshop, use it in AS as follows:
- group layer
- - image layer texture 10%, multiply
- - vector layer solid colour 100%

No, the shelf is just some strokes with a self-made brush in TVPaint, within a masked area. It's basically the same workflow as documented by John Kricfalusi when talking about the old Flintstones BGs: friskets and brushes/sponges.
