Thanks heyvern. It was very interesting. I've been looking for a quick way to label bones and your script looks like it could save a lot of time, I can't wait to try it out.

Phew! I survived.
It was actually a ton of fun and I hope to do more of these in the future.
I know that Smith Micro will be posting the link to the script but here it is:

I've included a similar file created during the webinar for download as well.

Thanks Vern, that was cool.
I'm loving the bone markers script, that saves a lot of time!
It's a pity constraints don't work down through child groups eh?

You did a great job! I like the script with the little dial indicators but it would be even nicer if you could constrain it more like Poser Dials or A:M sliders. Would that be possible?heyvern wrote:Phew! I survived.

Oh my yes, that is the dream.InfoCentral wrote:You did a great job! I like the script with the little dial indicators but it would be even nicer if you could constrain it more like Poser Dials or A:M sliders. Would that be possible?

To do this "right" we need more scripting access. We would need the ability for a "pop up" script to be able to access and manipulate the current layer of the document. All the pieces are in place to do this, we just need that one missing scripting feature.
To be fair, this could be done right now, using layer scripting. I have layer scripts that can transfer position values of a bone to any other bone value (translating a bone rotates a bone etc etc). You could set up slider and dial controls for a whole character using this idea. The controls would still need to be on a layer of the document (not floating palettes) wich is kind of a pain. I would prefer to wait for the application to have this type of accessibility built in to make it "easier" or feel "built in" with floating palettes.

Definitely agree with you there especially since most people use dual monitors these days. That is, unless they are on their laptops/tablets.heyvern wrote:I would prefer to wait for the application to have this type of accessibility built in to make it "easier" or feel "built in" with floating palettes.
