Which software used in Appuseries?

Post by toymaker1 »

Hello

I am a complete beginner in animation, (I have been inspired by watching the amazing Porco Rosso movie), but I have some ideas in my head about how stuff I would like to do. Therefore, I find it difficult to evaluate different animation software.
I have seen some videos on Youtube aimed at the market for children, produced by a company called APPUSERIES.
I was very inerested in one video in particular, called "My Airplane with Lyrics" . It shows 3D cartoon planes flying in all directions etc, as opposed to just moving from left to right or up and down, as most animation demos seem to.
I would really like to know what software is used in those Appuseries movies.
Does anyone know the software they use? - It s certainly very effective.

Grateful for any ideas about that.

I suppose you mean this one:

If so, it's 2d. it could be AS, Flash or whatever software. All the views you see of the airplane is an independent drawing, there are no many tricks on that. Actually, the animation is very "flat", but it's helped by the camera changes on each take.
Now, if you are here, I suppose your question is if something like this can be made in AS, right?
I think definitively this can easily be done in Anime Studio. You can use images created in other software (like photoshop or similar) or draw vectors directly in AS.

Thanks for your response selgin.
That is very useful information. Up till now I have been using Pixelmator to design toys. - I was using Photoshop, but I have found that Pixelmator does everything I require, i.e. drawings done with a Wacom pen, and colored using mainly the paintbucket tool. Having seen Porco Rosso, I would like to try out animated things. For example I can see in my mind a short movie showing something like a Boeing F4B/P12 bi-plane, taking off from a 1930's airfield (or aircraft carrier). does a few circuits, with some rolls etc, then lands again. I will look into AS, and learn from the beginning. (by the way, if you have not seen Porco Rosso, you should check it out. It's absolutely brilliant.).

Regards.
