thanks, Max Power. I'm not sure about what means "rundown" (my english is too limited), but i'll try to explain what I did.
first, I draw the characters in my paint book, when this are finished, I trace this to vectors. when I have the vectors, I make a 3d model based in the pictures. In this animation, the whale and the man are 3d.
To make the trees I draw the tree "bodys" (i don't know how to say "troncos") and, inside a particule layer, some leafs. then I modify the particules to give the leafy sensation. when the trees are finished, i put this using a 3d space.
to give movement to the characters, I import (from wings3d in .obj) it part by part. the head, an arm, the other arm, the leg, the other leg and the body. then I put each part in independent bone layers, and all the bone layers in a group layer.
as moho is not a 3d software, to put bones in a 3d object is complex (and as i don't speak english, is complex explain that to me). first, you take a part and decide how you like to move it with the bones.
For example, with a arm you must consider the elbow, so you turn on the Y axis the arm layer (not the bone layer) to reach the profile of the arm. and then you put the bones. so, you have a 3d character with a 2d movement. to make a more complex movement, you must combine the bone movements with the bone layer movements. I hope to be clear (a little... I want to use images to explain, but I don't know how).
when I have all I want in the scene (the characters moving, the camera moving, etc) I make new vector layers to draw the characters using by guide the 3d objects. doing this, I have a 3d animation that seems to be 2d animation (i hate the 3d animation... is like plastic).
again, I hope to be useful.

yes, selgin thank you for that explination, your technique is great.
I tried useing wings 3d after viewing a 3d catapault (that I think you did). I did have a lot of problems importing my .obj into Moho with the proper coloring and shading. Some posts recomended using other programs for that, but I never got the hang of it. What did you do for the colors?
Max Power
p.s. rundown=explination, Troncos is a cognate for the base of a tree, Trunk in English, but the damn word means an Elephants nose, rear storage of a car, or even a large case or footlocker. All as F.M. explained i guess. No wonder the english language is so freaking difficult to master.

moco de elefante. interesante, siempre se aprende algo nuevo.
gracias F.M.
Max Power, yes, I did the catapult. but I recomended use another program to paint the 3d objects. I use wings because is the only one I have... but paint in him is too hard, what i did with the whale is just paint some different colors to distinguish some parts to draw next.
with the catapult was different, I paint all the faces with different colors to give a gradient sensation.
to apply textures wings3d is complex and slow, and I don't like that.
so I just paint colors from the pallette. to do this, you must paint as you want and then select all the objects, touch right click and presion "colors to materials". when you do that just can to export to obj.
(if you want, I send you some 3d objects made with wings)
eso.
