Object Movement Question

Post by Anime2013 »

I have a bones character set to move around the screen ( the whole character moves as a whole, not individual bones), if I add new positions a few seconds later this alters the positions of my bones character that were already set earlier on the timeline.

How do add new movement positions without altering the previous positions? Thx

Example: There is a fish that bites a fishing hook. I then wanted to add the fish yanking downwards at the hook, but when I moved the fish downwards after he bites the hook on the timeline, then the fish won't reach the hook because he is too low. The "yanking" altered previous movements on the timeline.

If you select one bone to move it, it will start moving on the last frame you've set a key to that bone. This can be confusing, especially in a setup with lots of bones which move at different times.

Always first create a key where the bone still is in its former position, only then go to a later frame and move tho bone to its new position. If you forget this, go to the last frame where the bone is in the starting position, select it, copy the key (only of this bone!), go to the frame where the movement should start, paste.

I would advise you to use bones only to edit the movement of a character and not the position. Use layer tranform layer tool when you want to move the character around. Create a point on the Layer Translation line on the timeline when you want the character to start moving. Then select a frame when you want the character to stop moving. At that frame move your character anywhere you want.
