What is an easy way to bring forward layayers of a character

Post by KoopDaKilla »

I was wondering how to bring forward layers of a character. For example: I am trying to figure out how anime my character to open a fridge. I started out having my character layer above the fridge layer (side view) and opening the fridge. But then I also wanted my character to go behind the fridge door and grab some food. The problem accurs when his body is I front of the door.

I also have been working on making a head turn using smart bones. But as I go to the side view (wanting only one eye to be shone) I don't know how to make the unwanted eyeball transition behind the face as a smooth rotation.

Please help me out, thanks

Anything which is inside another layer (bone, group) can change its position in the layer stack. Check "animate layer order" under tab "depth sort" in the top layer.

that requires a lot of work... well depending on how complicated your head is, you basically need to animate frame by frame
here is something i created for a test, but i realized it's easier to just use switch layers. but with some masking and frame by frame animation with the help of onionskin you can manage anything, first i suggest you draw out all the face positions, front, 3,4 , side, 3,4 back, and back and then just import them as tracing images one at a time
here is a link you can download my file
