Effects disappear

hello guys,

i´m getting started with AS9 and i already managed to create simple characters but so far i havent used any effects on them yet. now i made my first background and i used some effects like "shaded" and "gradient" but as soon as i click on them or press the play button, all of the effects disappear and i just see the "unedited" version of the background. maybe it´s just something simple for you guys but i couldnt figure anything out until now :/

The default setting for playback in project view doesn't show any effects as it's more important to show the movement without stuttering. To be sure effects look like you want, always render an image or a movie.

You can change the preview settings at the bottom right of the project window.
