Copy shapes within same layer?

Copy shapes within same layer?
I understand how to duplicate a layer to create a whole other layer....but how do I duplicate a shape that I have created within the same layer? Thanks

Use the select points tool and select all the points for the shape, now hold 'ctrl and c' down to copy and 'ctrl and v' to paste. Now use the translate points tool to move it to where you want.
Or, you can use the translate points tool and click on an edge and it will select all the points for that shape then do the copy and paste.
