Starting animation of Battle of Gettysberg
I've had Anime Studio Pro for a few years now but only this year started to do much with it and wish I'd started sooner. I'm planning to do an animation of The Battle of Gettysberg and I'm in the character creation and omg what am I taking on stage! I've done some still renders of characters I've drawn and built in Anime Studio and I'd be interested in feed back. They're posted on my website http://www.art-of-james-horsler.co.uk/Animations.htm

Take a look at this topic over at Mike Kelley's forum. It started as a Face Creator, but he is currently working on extending it to a Character Creator type of thing. You might also think about using particles when simulating crowds, rather than trying to control everyone individually... Good luck with this -- it is a mighty project!
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

You don't often see this level of illustrative realism in AS. You did a good job of matching the characters and backgrounds. They really look like they belong together.
For battle scenes, you should be mindful that having many rigs on screen at the same time will slow your rendering times a lot. For that reason, you should probably render to still images, so that you can re-render portions more easily. You will of course have to composite these in an video editing program. Do some timed test renders so you know what you're in for.
Good luck on this project.
