Hello, I added all of my bones to my character and started to bind the bones to the layers. Did the head and then the neck.....but then I clicked on the next layer to bind and the work space went away from the bone layer and just showed my character with the layer selected that I was gonna bind next. Not sure what I did wrong. Tried it all a second time........and it happened the same way. What am I doing wrong?
MORE INFORMATION: I have all leg parts and arm parts in separate "group layers" for each arm and leg... if I only click on the actual "group layer" selections, the bone binding stays active....but if I click on one of the sub "vector layers" that are inside the "group layer", that is when the workspace just goes to a "vector layer" workspace and I cant do bone binding.
(IN OTHER WORDS....its seems like the sub "vector layers" inside of my "group layer" cannot be selected to bind to bones to)

The vector layers you want to bind to bones should be immediately beneath the bone layer that contains them.
Instead of putting those arms and legs in their own group layers, try just putting directly into the bone layer for the character, with no group layer in between.
