Heh, I didn't you know you could set bone constraints on multiple bones at a time! Learn something new everyday.

I just finished watching your video. I attempted to build the rig while comparing my progress to your video. I was able to do every step except for when you used the Curvature Tool (C).

In the video it is not possible to see which way you are dragging or what you are doing with the Curvature Tool. Do you have any tips?

Even without doing the Curvature Tool step, my first ever completed Mandcon Rig looks great!!!!

Thank you so much for going to so much trouble to help me with what was a very confusing task. Now that I understand the steps it no longer seems so daunting.
What if?

Yes my bad, when I recorded it I forgot to include the cursor.

CGS. drag to the right rounds it, drag to the left squares it.

LOL 2600 views on an arm rig. And we finally solved it. Is this good or bad?

Well, I'm a little sad. There's an easy alternative to the mandcon setup with the introduction of patch layers in AS8.

Here the scene without the patch layers.

Hehe, I felt the same sensation with patches "just when we got the perfect arm rig! :x".
Anyway, mandcon setup still being useful for curved arms and legs. From what I can see they can't be made using patches.

For those of you who want to emulate a patch layer using masks, SynthSin75 has detailed an example at the Animators Forum.
Here's an ASP6 file with 2 very simple methods to do patch layers, one with masking and one without:

meltedtoons wrote:well part of the reason is, I used anime studio since, 2006 and I hated how long it takes to set up the bones. so, thats why i switched over to Flash but I didn't like Flash because it required Scripts ALOT... even for a type of lip sync.
Doesn't Flash have bones too now...
