how many frames ?
Dear Friends:
I am new and using anime studio debut 8.
I just started using it.
I notice at the frames slider, the max number of frames is 200.
Is it possible to change this ?
is 200 the max number of frames for any animation ?
Can I use more frames and what is the max number ?
Thank you !!!

Re: how many frames ?
Debut frame limit is 3000.
to change the duration (and other details) of your project use the FILE / PROJECT SETTINGS options.
there's a number of differences between debut and pro -- check out the "Product Comparison" pages at the back of the manual.
welcome and have fun!

Re: how many frames ?
Would it be possible to make many avi's with 3000 frames, then edit them together with a good
video editing software ?
Thank you !!!
video editing software ?
Thank you !!!
Re: how many frames ?
Yes, this is the way it should be done anyway but do not try to reach 3000 frames, just do the scene and cut it no matter what frame it is on.rednova wrote:Would it be possible to make many avi's with 3000 frames, then edit them together with a good

Re: how many frames ?
indeed! I rarely have scenes that are more than 10-15 secs...
... but if I have (say) a 30 second (and that's quite a long time!!) sequence where I have two people talking and I want an "over the shoulder" shot of one (i.e front view A back view B) then the other (front view B, back view A) and I plan to switch between the shots "every 2-3 seconds" then I'll have two AS files that I render separately (say 15 secs each), then use a video editor to interleave the footage and add the audio (I don't use AS to render audio, just for sync purposes - the soundtrack get added in the video editor)

Re: how many frames ?
Do what the movie guys do, you "shoot" (render) the whole scene from both angles, then cut in "post" between the two shots.
Your audio is always synced because both animations are identical but just cut back and forth. You can just load the same audio used in Anime Studio into your video editor and sync it to both renders once, then you can cut back and forth as needed.
Watch movies with those "over the shoulder" shots, and you see that the mouth movements of the character with their backs to the camera almost NEVER match what they are actually saying. They pull the best dialog or best shot of the person FACING the camera.

Re: how many frames ?
Personally speaking, I try not to waste animation effort ... so rather than do the "movie" thing and animate and render the whole sequence from two (or more!!) angles my own approach, where I've not planned the final cut down to last detail, is more the "news gathering" thing -- shoot the critical stuff and have a few (various angle) "noddies" that will fit anywhere (and, as you say Vern, if you can't see their lips who cares if it's well sync'd or not!)
Re: how many frames ?
I misunderstood. I thought you were looking for a solution to the audio sync and editing when rendering separate angles.
If you have it all planned out the way you describe you still mention having separate files for each angle. If this is the case then aren't you animating all of the cross dialog from each angle anyway? Wouldn't it just be easier to animate all of one angle in one file for each character and then cut back and forth in post? This would give you the option to change things up during editing if needed, overlap dialog for example, sometimes you would have a character talking from behind and it cuts to the front of the opposite character.
This wouldn't be extra or wasted animation at all, you are still going to animate all of the dialog, this would give you more options and make animating in AS so much easier, you wouldn't have to deal with switching character views in one file.
Just an opinion.
