Hi All,
I picked up AS 8 debut and have been working with it for about a month now. I've made quite a bit of progress and at times it is frustrating (I can totally relate: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=22757)
Anyway, I was wondering two things;
1. In the timeline you can scale the layer or scale the layer or scale points. They both appear to do the same thing but would there be an instance where you would prefer to use one method over the other?
and 2 (and this may relate to the above). Is there a way to combine layers with one being a animated loop and the other being a scaled image? The reason I ask is that I have an image of a large rock in water. The rock is scaled throughout the animation. At the bottom of the rock I want to add an animated cycle of ripples in the water. But because I scaled the rock, I'm having trouble tying the ripples to rock as it moves. Perhaps I am going about this the wrong way but I can't seem to figure out a better way to do this. Any thoughts or ideas?

Re: Scaling questions
Put rock and ripples inside a bone layer and move this.

Re: Scaling questions
Thanks tiger, that little tip helped a ton.
I'm hoping to post a sample of this in the next few days. I have to tweak the ripples a bit and add the camera movement.
