If you do a style like this, you will have a lot of point motion anyway - it would be wasted on some Family Guy movements. But for a one-shot I'd do it faster in TVPaint - building rigs in this style only pays if there's a budget, like for a series.

Blob of course is not that necessary. What's important is creating an impression that eyelid is covering the eye.
Btw, I dont quite understand why to mask pupil or eyebrow area?

In your example of the dog the eye brow hides the eye ball as it sits over it... Again this is a potentially unneeded detail, and could be done without masking by using a solid 'patch' of the same colour as the face to hide it. The pupils masked on so that when it goes to the edge of the eye it doesn't go over the eye line. Again there are other ways of dng this without masking but using Shape stack ordering instead...

The masking solution was shown in response to the posts title which exclaimed masking was a bad solution for blinks which it isn't, nor is it the only way. Without the experience to know why, how can you make such a bold statement? :lol: :wink:
