You have accomplished quite a bit. The quality of your work is beyond question. You have an ongoing series. You have characters that I look forward to seeing. You can create stories...I watch "Frank 'N' Steve".
From what I see you've mastered all the basic challenges. The question becomes, "What does it take to make a series go viral?"
I started three animation projects which are unfinished because they required much more work than I originally thought. It looks like a daunting task.

strangely I've been playing with an idea where steve the monster, who eats cats...would meet a cat and become best friends with it...

I do not have videos that have gone viral but I have a few that have almost 100k views. It took me about an hr to put some legs on a pickle and made him dance not knowing that there is a national pickle day. So every year on that day, some e-card company gets thousands of hits by packaging my video with fancy boarders and other neat stuff. I am sure they are making money off the ads on their page and I would be owed some money but I am sure it would not be that much so I never bothered to mess with it.

It just shows that some of the best stuff on YouTube hardly gets any views but some BS crap gets millions. For example that annoying orange guy. It just bothers me that he makes a living on very simple video editing and some really bad scripts and he does not even take the time to even do it right. On the other hand, great stuff like this hardly get any views.

George Takei has even posted some of my stuff on his page and never gives credit where its do, he calls it "from a fan," and he usually gets 7-8k views within a few seconds of posting the image. Can you imagine if he would link back to the creator and the views we would get?

I have watched every episode you have made several times and hope you continue on.

Also, it is hard to believe that this here only has 28k views and I been posting it almost monthly on several social media sites.

I looked at the video analystics. It will tell you what web pages are linking your videos.

Thanks guys, it's really great to see the support for what I do, as I'm sure many of you will know being an animator on the net is a pretty lonely and thankless life. You don't get to see other people enjoying your work, you just make it and hope you entertain people along the way.

Personally, I think the whole viral thing is just really random, I've been making videos for about four years on and off, I've pretty much covered everything from hello kitty to porn and I haven't once made a 'viral' I've got a couple of videos that did around the 10,000 mark, but, nothing epic and also the videos that went bigger in views weren't the ones i thought would.

I try not to worry about it to much, I just write what I want and then see what happens...I pretty much get averagely 600 views per video since this series has begun, it's not amazing, but, the way I see it I'm lucky to get that.

And don't worry about the idiots, I'm writing them a new episode today.

middledistancecereal, I'm glad you're planning another episode of "F 'N' S". Your characters would be missed as much as any forum member.
Being part of an active community is important to me since animation is 'lonely' and 'underappreciated' as far as the general public is concerned.
I have several unfinished projects where a number of forum members should be listed in the credits. It's like, certain members have done extra to help me and I want to succeed to demonstrate that their help made the difference.
Although no one can 'hear' it, I cheer on anyone who has success that is a part of this community.
