Some "political" gifs

Post by Víctor Paredes »

Hi, I want to share some "political" gifs I have made this days. All are about the chilean president, which have been subject of many jokes in the web, something similar to what you have seen with George Bush junior. I took some pictures I thought were funny and animated them.

The first one is this photo

It has been used for many jokes, becoming a local meme (here's a compilation). I thought it would look great in movement, so I vectorized the legs to create a running effect and used bones for the upper body:

I published this in a local site similar to 4chan, and someone told, Cool, it looks like the Ghostbusters walkcycle. So I made this version:

There is an illustration of Piñera which I don't know who made, but he looks sexy and strong, which creates a very funny contrast with the real person:

I liked this illustration so much, that I took this and animated it:

Yesterday we had a new massive student protest yesterday. Someone twitted the Abbey road gif I made some days ago, saying the Beatles also protests for a better public education. I fastly made a new version of the gif, which fits better with the context:

Well, that's all. I hope you like it :)

Ha ha! The president looks like he is determined to clear a path for himself...and George Harrison still looks real funky at the back there! Great stuff, as always.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Thanks. I used Anime Studio Pro, it's a nice software

Looking for who made the illustration of the president, I searched in similar images on google, and discovered it's based on a the "handsome guy" meme. The original picture is superman. Probably you knew it... I just discovered it.

If I had to guess on the method, selgin basically drew the legs and feet in AS (as vectors) and add bones to the pngs of the upper body. It's an artful trick of combining vectors and bitmaps.

It's easy if you're as talented as selgin.

Wonderfully inventive as usual, selgin!
