Hi, i have been trying to make a 2d animation of a walking cat. (side-on).
I have drawn the cat, scanned it in, and traced the image in anime studio. I have recently understood how to add bones so they don't cause full images spazms but i am unable to get any further (without failing) than the first step, once the legs cross over, the colour negates and it looks terrible. I should clarify now that i am using bones to manipulate a single image, i have tried to split each part into seperate layers but this method is too advanced for me as this is my first project done on it. Please help me, i only have until the 1st of June to complete and present my animation. thank you.

You kind of need to have the parts separated into their own layers. Its actually easier than you think to animate that way. Take a look at this thread on the bone offset tool I did, it might help. If not, try to upload the anime file you're working on to a file sharing site for us to see and advise you better. Here's the link to the thread.
