Settings for YouTube

I was going through Fiziwig's tutorial and he mentioned that videos uploaded to YouTube should be 30 fps and 640 x 480 resolution. Is that what most of you use for YouTube uploads? Why or why not?

Right now youtube accepts many resolutions, including full HD (1920x1080). In my case, it changes depending of the projects, but HD is the most used.

You mean you use full HD (1920 x 1080) each time, Selgin? Or do you go with a more moderate HD (1080 x 720)? What are the pros and cons to them?

And do you stick with 24 or 30 fps, usually?

I already know what YouTube says—I asked this question here because I was interested to hear what you guys do, and what reasons you have for doing it that way. I'm not yet an expert on video stuff, so I was hoping to get some perspective on it.

Like, why do they prefer 30 fps, and is it an important rule to follow? Is it worth it to make your animations in full HD, or is it overkill? Stuff like that...
