Alright, I think I have it figured out now. But I do have one more question.

Is there anyway to show my animations to those that do NOT have Anime Studio Debut 8? Cause I have two models with animations I would like to show off: One of the main character of my cartoon, Benny the Almiraj, and another of the main unlikable character, Kazek the Baku.

Okay, does the manual explain WHY I can't make objects transparent. Right now I'm working on a third model for a character who plays the role of a villain to please his wife by engaging in mock battles with her. This character is highly skilled in "Yin" type magic(Darkness and Cold). Right now, I'm trying to get an animation of him breaking through ice. My problem is that I cannot make the ice transparent, no matter how much I mess with the opacity of a vector, OR the alpha settings of the filling tool. What am I doing wrong?

The problem is in Debut, transparency is only visible during render. Hit ctr+R to see the preview render and view the effect.

Ah, okay. Could you answer my other question, too? How do I show my animations to those who do not have the program? Preferably in Gif animation.

To share your animation, you need to export it. Look in the File sub-menu for the export animation option or hit ctr+E. But with Debut you're limited to AVI, Quicktime, or SWF formats. You would need another app like Photoshop to turn it into GIF.

Alright. I guess I could show some of my progress soon. Not in AVI form, though. Probably just in normal Anime Studio format.

Edit: Nevermind, Flash seems to work for me just fine.

Alright showed off one of my animations, and someone suggested I use the "Hide Edge" tool. To be frank, I'm unsure how THAT works, too. I try clicking on the edges I want to hide, but it does nothing, not even in a render.

Also, Jonbo, like your avie. "Live long and prosper, my precious."

LOL thanks man. It sounds like you're using the tool correctly, is there a stroke applied to the shape you're trying the tool on? If not then there wouldn't be any change or if the stroke width is set to zero you wouldn't see the effect. Also make sure that you don't have multiple points selected, the tool won't know which line you want hidden. With NO points seleced, just click near a point with the tool and it will hide the line from that point to the next point.

Okay, I know how to use the hide edges tool, but the only way I can make use of it is to color an entire shape the same color. This is a problem because the stretch marks on Salobal's arms will no longer be visible, no matter how many times I try to fill it. Also, since Salobal's claws are the same color as the outline, they will show up wrong as well. I get with Salobals claws that, obviously, I have to make them a lighter shade of black, but that info doesn't help me color the muscle marks.

Me again.

Alright, now I have a problem even the manual shouldn't be able to explain. I started to tinker with my program, and I uploaded an image to the program. ...But it came out distorted. What's more, when I tried to trace the image, THAT came out distorted too. What's more, the image got squished as well. I have pretty much the entire program figured out except for this. What happened.

What format is the image? Is it just this one image or more? Could you upload the image to a file share site so we can check it?

Pretty much every image I upload does that now. I save images in PNG format if that helps?

Try this png I made. I've tried it in AS8 Debut and it works. If it doesn't work for you, there's a problem on your end. You could try, I know this sounds stupid, but try installing QUICKTIME, or re-installing it if you already have it. Make sure its the latest version. This has been known to help on several problems.

Alright, I just found out my Quicktime corrupted somehow. I'll have to replace it, then.

Well I reinstalled Quicktime, but the problem still remains. Does this mean I can never use the program again?
