Newbie here - Why Use Scenes?

Is it mainly to keep the file size under control? Is there any other reason to split a video up into scenes?

Most of my animations will be music videos between 3 and 5 minutes long.

There are several reasons to create scenes. If you're using Debut, you're limited to 3000 frames, which at 24 fps, is 2min. 5 sec. Then there are the render times which can be quite lengthy and if you have a problem during it, you would have to render the whole thing over again instead of just a scene.
