I remember reading somewhere about ASP8's ability to reduce control points on vectors imported from SVG format, but I don't know where that is in the program or what it's called.
Is there such a thing? a simplify function? or do I have to manually remove points?
Also, I imported some text shapes, and some of the points that are supposed to be hard corners translate to curves making the letters look wonky. Is there a way to prevent this, or fix this easily?
Easily reduce control points in imported vectors?

Thanks!
Right now I'm having more difficulty importing vectors than I thought possible. The SVG import doesn't seem to work as well as the Illustrator import, and the EPS import doesn't work at all. Inkscape won't export Illustrator files, and the conversion program I have saves a version of AI that AS8P wont import. Finally, I was able to save something out of Freehand that imports correctly, Illustrator 7 format.
When I tried importing the SVG file, some of the lines were wonky, the strokes were all way too big, some things were missing, and shapes were out of place.

yeah - SVG import in AS8 is very basic:

IMO improving SVG support is a vital update to later AS versions - especially as HTML5 takes over from such as SWF...
