Deleting Saved Characters

Post by petefc »

I have saved a number of characters in the Character Wizard for a project which is now complete. I wish to reduce the clutter that exists in my CW. If I delete them I can appreciate that they will no longer be available for future projects - that's obvious. What concerns me is that by deleting them they will disappear from the completed project.

Suppose I wanted to "reshoot" one or more scenes ? Would the characters still be available to me from within the project ?

A test file indicates that once a modified character has been imported to a project, it is there for good and I need have no fear about tidying up the character list in the CW. I guess I just need reassurance that cleaning it up will not predudice any projects already completed.

Yeah, you're safe deleting them. But if you have the HDD space, what would it hurt to back up a copy of them? Just in case you find a need for them down the road.

Thanks for the reassurance. I regularly back up my HDD to an external drive. However, are you suggesting backing up specific files, or file, somewhere else ?

Where are they held that they might be retrieved for future use ? :?:

Yes, I made a copy of the CW folder from the AS root folder and a copy of the presets that I placed into master file folder. I have all my animation projects and their assets in there. I'm on PC, but here is the path I use to get to the presets so I can copy or replace as I need from my master file.

PATH

C:\Users\johnbo\AppData\Roaming\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Pro\8.1\Character Wizard Presets
