Saving question

I just started using Anime Pro 8 and so far so good. My question is: Why does the animation file I'm working on save to the desktop when it's located in a folder? Is it also saving in the folder? Having learned that you can't move things around without losing links I'd really like to know where the new information is being stored. Thanks.

Hey Terri, Anime Studios saves by default to location where the file was opened from. It does not save in multiple locations at one time, but to the last place the file is saved to. So if you use the open recent feature and that file was on the desktop, that's where it will save to.So if you want to use the gather media feature, go to that folder and open the anime file there. Now when you choose to save, it will save there. You can also use the save as function to make sure you're saving in the proper place. Also, if you break the link to an image, movie, or audio file, all you need to do to re-link it is to double-click on that layer in the layer palette and choose the image tab for images or movies or audio tab for audio files, and reselect the file from its location.

Thank you!!! The saving answer is very helpful, but the re-linking is a life saver! I knew there had to be a way to do that but I couldn't find it in the help manual. I'm glad I found this forum.
