There used to be a way...
I earlier versions there used to be a way of saving a shape whose points had been moved as a new layer. I can't for the life of me remember how we used to do it but iyt is a very useful function (One that I really need at this moment in time!!!!) Can anyone remember how to do it or even if it is possible in V5?

I don't know of any automatic way to do that (in version 5 or version 4), but you could do this:
1. Duplicate the starting layer, or copy/paste the object in question into a new layer.
2. If necessary, use the Animation->Copy Current Frame command to copy the point positions at frame X back to frame 0.
