I'm a new user, generally enjoying my time with Anime Studio Pro 8. With the exception of Styles. At first, I just ignored the fact that I couldn't find a pattern to how they worked. I did the usual, reading the 500 page manual and quick start, searching the forum. Trying everything I could think of over a period of days. Reading a few posts where others are confused. Found a couple of responses that were clear as "mud," all to no avail.
Although my "problem" with Styles is more fundamental, what I'm at a total impasse at at the moment is trying to make a new style with NO stroke so that I can easily apply that to other shapes. Could anyone offer some sage advice or point to a tutorial that crisply shows how to accomplish this?
To summarize what I've read so far, just select New from the Styles pulldown, and create a new name. With that highlighted, go ahead and change the fill and stroke properties to your liking. lol easy peasy, right?
But here is the problem. If I hit new style, the front checkbox for stroke is checked but with the word "stroke" greyed out. The width will have a number in it. If I try to change it to zero, it reverts back to .25. The back check boxes for stroke and width, which evidently serve as some type of "override" doesn't seem to function or make a difference in the making of, and saving of a new style without a stroke. I've tried selecting shapes before this process, not selecting a shape, tried Verns idea of setting up a shape with the fill and stroke properties you like before entering the Styles/New process. Tried every combination of turning the second check box on and off etc., etc. All to no avail. The new saved style will always have a stroke of some width in it. I've been just manually changing each and every shape I create, one at a time, which totally negates the concepts of styles altogether.
Alas. My kingdom for a horse....

That's brilliant Stephen, works like a charm. Here's a video demo of Stephen's idea.
