Continuous gradient through interpolated switchlayers

Post by Michdm »

Hey folks, was just wondering if there was anyway to fix a problem im having.

I have two switch layers which i am switching between with interpolate turned on. Towards the end of the switch's duration the gradient from the first layer appears to run out and is left with an average of all the colours used in the gradient. I have already tried moving the gradient whilst the switch is active to no effect. Is anyone aware of a way to fix this problem? It would be much appreciated.

Thanks again

a thought - not sure if it will do the business or not - have you tried linear interpolation? (looks as though you're using smooth)

Yeah, i am using smooth. I'm using it because I hoped it would be quicker than drawing each frame individually but its not really turned out that way :(.

If worse comes to worse then I'll have to do it that way but I would rather use smooth.

Any other ideas out there?

If you have bones in the head, try turning up the bone strength on the head. Gradients follow with bone strength.

My switch layers for the body parts don't have bones in them.

This is my first project using anime studio so I dont quite know what i'm doing, earlier I was trying to set it up in a way that allows me to use smooth interpolation and bones within the same shape but there didn't seem to be a way at the time, if there is a way or there is a tutorial someone could point me to it would be a great help.

Here's how my layers are set up for my character in full, within each skeleton there are seperate vector layers for every part of the body.
