Don't use AI unless forced by gunpoint ...

Seriously, your style translates naturally to AS. I'd import some pencil sketches as guides, create the colour styles, then draw everything I need. Doesn't take any longer than in Photoshop.

Ok, thanks for all the support! It's very valuable.
I feel confident enough now to buy the full version and try it out more.
Thanks!

Interesting.

Have a try yourself, my testfiles are
Image and
Image, both created in Photoshop. The other ones were done in TVPaint, as I said, with the additional "premultiply" options.

Doesn't seem to be a problem with the photoshop export, I re-imported them and they look good.
Here are two of the layers, as exported from PS:

And rylleman, here's your image composited on top of mine.
Smooth brush looks fine... White edges on the other.

Very strange! I do not get this issue with slowtigers pngs either.

I tried with various render options, extra smooth images, premultiplied etc.

You getting this issue with my test image do suggest that something is amiss in your system. How's your setup? AS-version?, OS, hardware?

(I tested in AS7, build 20101001p, Linux Mint 11, AS running in Wine 1.2.2. Intel Core 8 x 3.20GHz, 12Gb RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 480.
Also tested in AS8.1, build 3207, wine 1.3.32, same machine.)

My setup is MAc PPC G5 OS 10.4.11 - now let's hear from a Windows user!

I think this qualifies for a bug report to Mike, especially with a look at the different graphic libraries of OS. Who would've suspected that there were such differences!

I can fix/remove the white lines on File->Export Animation by unchecking the 'Antialiased Edges'

Image
I guess since your images already have antialiasing then it shouldn't be an issue?

Does that resolve it..

Shouldn't be an issue unless you mix imported images and vectors. Vectors would look aliased then.
