AS webinar? Never got a link just a receipt...

Post by mykylr »

Not had a receipt or a link as to where it will be.

Not much use having a receipt without the means to join. (Standard Content paradise free receipt.) hmmmm.

I asked this of 'anime studio' in facebook and got the reply:

We will send you an invite tomorrow afternoon west coast time for the webinar on Thursday. Just make sure to check your spam filters if you don't see it by the end of the day!

Anybody know if this webinar will be recorded? I am unable to watch being at work at that time, but would like to see it nonetheless...

it will be uploaded within a week.

anyone want to message over twitter during the event, I'm Kiwimmigrator - use hashtag #aswebinar - it appears the attendees can't talk amongst themselves

It was quiet on there, where was everybody?
I wonder was it because people had to find the chat button, and then I also found that it was set to send my text msg to Host only, you had to change the drop down to "all speakers" (as discussed in the webinar.) Was that an issue for people?

Were people from the UK and Europe online, or are you guys waiting for the video to be uploaded later? And the US, were you guys around or at work?

There didn't appear to be many questions. They said if there weren't any more they would wrap it up - I panicked and asked about the frame cycle bug, which Mike Clifton personally told me he had fixed in the previous release  Soon the video will be online and you can all witness my shame.

I do think it's great that SM are making this effort to communicate with the community, and that Mike was there to talk directly to us in this format.

Longer release cycle should hopefully mean more patches and point upgrades between full (paid) updates, which is also promising.

Morph blend gui remains, but relative blending could be a big step up. Remains to be seen what the script gurus can manage with that.

I got up 4:50am local time for the webinar and it was worth it.
Thanks to those involved

hopefully next time there's a bit more notice :) although, to be fair the more notice there is the more likely I am to forget about something!

the addition of relative blending checkbox in 8.1 is exciting to me. One thing no one asked about, which was probably a missed opportunity, was the masking bug that was introduced in 8.0.1 to fix another bug found in 8... Personally i've not yet experienced it, but would have been interesting to hear Mike's reaction directly to the previous 'it's one or the other' stance?

Anyway... the dialogue, and growing interest in filling gaps 'pro' users need filling (if you pardon the pun) is appreciated!

Maybe next time there can be a separate window for attendee chat? I'm sure SM can glean a lot from peoples conversation/interest in particular parts of a webinar. (or use twitter, like only me and madrobot did :P again, probably need more notice next time!)

I registered, but for some reason I didn't get a link, maybe because of my email spam filter, I don't know. Still good of you all to represent us. :)

Relative Blend morph makes it much more powerful. It's a fantastic addition.

definitely a missed opportunity about the masking bug. relative blend morph sounds like a great feature, which makes the masking bug all the more problematic. do i give up masking for a better blend morph? ugh. i don't think i can upgrade until they fix the masking bug.

Yes the relative blend is a awesome addition.
It was a bit awkward and it was so early I could get my head together to ask enough questions,( I was actually in bed) also I felt most of my questions would have seemed to be looking to version nine so I hung fire on those. Dang they called it of so quickly I didn't realise it was such a ghost town otherwise I would have chimed in and not waited for someone else to speak.
Anyway it was good that it was on at least.

I have not subscribed to the Webinar, as I wanted other peoples to be able to join, since there was a limited number of places for it, seems I might as well have subscribed!
