That's shading.

You double click the layer in the layer window, then there is a shadow tab then you go in the layer shading and turn it on.

Then you play with the settings!

I haven't tried shadow yet until today,
and guess what, it does not work, or
I simply did not know how.
Have checked the shadow box, shading box,
looked at the project settings,...
= big zip for me,

Can you be a bit more
elaborated?

Preview the project to see the shadow. ctrl r if on a PC or file/preview.
