Depends on your needs really.

If You only need basic video editing, then Virtualdub could do it for You.

http://virtualdub.org

Here is a list of open source video editors.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vi ... e_software

I use Premiere myself, so I never used those, but chances are You will find something for your needs!

Hope this helps

That is just a codec problem, if You save to say h-264, You will have a color shift, but will have a much smaller file size then if You use a mpeg4 codec, which has good color reproduction but larger file size!

If You only need an encoder, then Virtualdub is the best out there, there is an avi and a mpeg version of it.

I see, You export to avi xvid format, then You import in an editor from which You then export to HD.

First, xvid is a very compressed codec, that means You loose allot of image quality, but You get small size files.

You should export to a loss-less codec, or even to images, like PNG before You import in an editor.

If You import xvid, which is already very compressed, then You import in an editor, then You compress again, You end up with very low quality video, which may cause that shift in color.

Export from Anime Studio in either uncompressed avi, Quicktime with Animation codec at 100% quality or in image format, like PNG.

Then import in movie maker.

This way You are working with loss less or full image quality, then Windows Movie Maker should output your animation with no, or at least much less color shift!

When You are working with any video editor, whether it is Window Movie Maker or any other, You need to use the best footage quality possible.

I think if you take GCharb's advice you will be happy with the results you get from Windows Movie Maker.

I would recommend uncompressed avi out of AS then import that into WMM. This is the Method I used to use before I bought Sony Vegas and I always got great results, even better than some results I get in the high dollar Sony Vegas.

Youtube converts it to mpeg4.

Best settings for Youtube in either .mov or avi is h-264 or mp4 codec with best quality, 44.1 khz in mp3 or acc for sound.

Try exporting in quicktime and with one of these codecs with best quality preset, then upload to Youtube!

Hello again!

Here is a short test I just uploaded.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMWs-tNv0sU

I opened Anime Studio, made a small animation, set project settings to 1080p, pressed ctlr-e to export movie, choose Quicktime, I choose the mpeg-4 codec, I set it up at best quality then rendered the scene to disk.

Then I uploaded to Youtube.

Does the alien have some kind of blur effect or soft edges?

Could you post a link to your YouTube channel so we can see what you are seeing?
