FBF lipsync test

Post by 3deeguy »

I'm testing frame by frame lipsync because I want to chop up the dialogue and move pieces around with the sequencer. Hearing words while scrubbing the timeline will take some getting used to. I'd actually like some tips or criticism so I can improve.

Looks good.

First part is excellent (Good shot...) but in second part there is so many movements which dosent suit his mood, while speaking. Upper lip is almost frantic ,) Still, its all in place but I think you could cheat a bit to make it more convincing.

It looks good. The only thing I noticed was that the closed mouth 'M' of 'Mission' appears to be missed. It's always a good idea to hold closed mouth positions such as M, B, P for atleast 2 frames so that they read properly.

Maestral, I don't know how to cheat yet but I'm working on it. I could tell the second part was off but I didn't know how to fix it.
AmigaMan, I will hold the M for two frames and and try again.
I don't see how to get around the extremely choppy audio when I scrub the timeline.
I'll study the sound waves in 'Audacity'and I will watch video of people speaking. (something I've never paid much attention to.)
I even have to tweak Papagayo which means I have a lot to learn.

While animating we play with the spectators eye/s and I mentioned cheating in that manner.

I'll try to simplify - it looks to me that mouth shapes are to wide which causes teeth to be seen more than necessary and makes upper lip jumpy. Cheating in that case might be avoiding strict usage of mouth shapes by phonemes. Sometimes less is more ,)
