The other day I learned how to make a mouth from scratch but note those get synced to a sound file. So what if the object isn't meant to be synced to a file? I need an idiot's guide here.
I want this to happen in the cartoon but can't get it to happen. Please note this is all meant to be carried out from a Switch.
A switch layer is just a special type of group layer that only allows *one* of its children layers to be visible at one time..
Switch layers also have the ability to have their switches driven by an audio file or data file generatated by something like papayago..
Ok now the relevant bit...
Create a switch layer
Create a layer and call it what you want, and draw something on it. drag it to be a child of the switch layer.
...repeat as many times as you like.
To use...
move to a position on the timeline.
Go to the switch layer, right click and choose the layer you want to show..
...move to another position on the timeline and repeat..
thats it.

What *if* the Hokey cokey *is* what its all about?

I'm not animating a mouth with this.

That's the thing, I'm trying to do exactly that but it's not working out that way. I switch images along the time line as I should but in preview I only get the last picked image.
Ok once more.... When you are Adding a keyframe aka trying to get a dot to show.
To change a switch layer, you must right click on the "switch layer" not the childlayers... Unless you see a menu popup with the names of the layers and one has a tick against it, you aint doing it right..
it maybe that you are.. I cant see... but selecting a child layer does not switch a switch layer...
haha no worries glad you got it
You're not the first to be caught out with that, since when you click on the layer it comes into view...but of course its all just a devious trick....
now you can animate...woop wooop...
enjoy.
