layer position automatically updating? am i losing my mind?

Post by NeedyN00b »

i have to be doing something wrong, but i've been working in this software too long... i wish i could give exact replication steps, here goes...

when i am working in a layer, i know i am using the draw tool to resize it and sculpt it, add points, etc. but then, unexpectedly, i'll notice that the layer coordinates have changed -- specifically, my z axis keeps zooming in to -0.7321. i'll reset it, then have to resize the points, but then it changes back later somewhere else.

the obvious answer here would be that i am stupidly using the layer tools instead of the draw tools, but i am (somewhat) sure at this point that it's not that.

it's like they keep defaulting back to this -0.7321 setting. is there some kind of thing at work here that would cause layer coordinates to automatically update from zeroes?

UPDATE:

Okay - I just added a new group layer and the Z axis was already defaulted at -0.7321. Why would it default to this value? why o why o why

it's happening in other places.

any help is appreciated thanks

Hello,

The default Z position for the camera is 1.7321. I don't know if that helps, can not exactly understand what you are trying to say or rather I can't duplicate the problem.

thanks.

it's the layer position default that's bugging me - shouldn't X,Y, and Z all default to 0? i'm creating the character and i don't want anything distorted (yet...).
