I don't know how I missed this until now, but I'm glad I finally saw it. Great animation and killer music. Really expertly done!

> Is that right? Do you always build your models from scratch or are you actually able to re-use anything going from one shot to another?

This problem, I have thought about long long ago
Re-use models is very attractive
But the universal model like 3D models can't be made in anime studio
Because we are making 2D anime
Changes in the action with a variety
This is the characteristic in 2D animation
Re-use models can't make this animation
they are only can do very limited and unified action
Nevertheless
You still need to spend for such a great effort to make these models
If you want to make a high-quality animation
You may spend more time in making the re-use models
However, they can not make a good action
Making models for each cuts
It seems a lot of trouble for making
But under the premise of guaranteeing quality
This is the right way
Because each of your models are suitable to the cuts
You will be sure
You can be sure to make action in the cut, very well
If use a re-use model
You have to worry about the action in the cut, and make the action which only have the re-use models can do, in the storyboard
then, you can not play your show which you want

Lazy and efficient production are two different things
Not seriously can not make good things
Think of ways to be lazy is "Not seriously"

Thanks for the reply, my friend. :)

Very well said! I agree. Being lazy and producing high quality animation do not blend well together. ...or ANY animation for that matter. :)
And I understand your explanation with the limitations of the models in anime studio very well. And that it is a choice of style that everything boils down to, of course.

I still think I have some things to learn from you, so let me ask this:

what advantages do you see in using Anime Studio for the type and style of animation that you are making?

Nobody wants to be the lazy animator, I think. :D But we are all concerned about good efficiency and best possible workflow... and I am sure you had your reasons when you picked your tool?

If you do not mind I will give my answer to that question.

The reason, for me, that makes AS perfect for such a workflow is the ability to make point animation on the fly with it.

No other 2D animation software can do it the way AS can, not TBA, not Flash or any other software that I know of.

You create a base character, with points, shapes, fills etc, then you animate it on the go.

This gives you an enormous amount of freedom if done properly, and by freedom I mean that you are not bound to the limitations of a rig.

And what makes such a workflow great, is that you forgo the whole cleaning, coloring etc stuff, making it a viable and cost/time solution to classical 2D animation.

I too would like to hear what our friend has to say on that subject!
As our friend put it, no work, no good animation.

Yes, Mr GCharb have said is one reason of my choice, thanks

I'm living in Asia, living in China
Asia animation require handsome action, and a good-looking face.
Similar to the character of the foreign kind for funny, is not to be accepted in Asia
So, our animation need a high-quality all the time
If you do not want to lose to Japan.

Then, the whole cleaning, coloring etc stuff of the high-quality animation have very complicated
So, Mr GCharb have said is one reason of my choice
Thank you Mr GCharb

And I have more reason

If I make hand-draw animation frame by frame
Aside from the problem which have said above
I will also need my staff can draw picture
The people who can draw have a higher reward than the not
Anime Studio make me can use the people who only need to pay less money to make a high-quality animation
The pictures of the key-frame pose have be made by the people who can draw
Then, the people who can not draw will get go on in anime studio
The pay of people in Asia is a important point of business
Because we need to be made a lot of things within a very short time
And we have people enough to do this
You can not choose not to make animation so hurry
Because the other animation company all will
Of course, if you are in a authority company like Disney or Gibuli
You can make a short animation within a long time
Audience willing to wait
But if you not
The audience will forget you, when you are making your animation in your long time
Animation in Asia is more business
You want to be lazy, you will die

The reason Mr GCharb said is "we can save time for cleaning line, color and so on"
Here I say is "we can save the money for the high cost of people who can draw"

Yes, I see. So for a person doing the inbetween work it is enough to be "just" a good animator, you don't necessarily have to be a solid drawing artist. Which you of course have to be when you work on key poses.

Very interesting point of big interest to all of us, not only our friends in China. We all have our budgets to meet.

Thank you for taking your time to answer here on this forum, I think there are many here who read you posts with big interest.

Thanks again!

An absolutely amazing and beautiful animation. Well done.

I also enjoyed your supposedly Googled translated English. It was like reading ancient proverbs and made you sound even wiser.

word men. its like listening to a great kung fu animation master speak.
great work as affirmed by the others. whats even more amazing is your generosity with your work files. really a big treat to get to look under the hood to learn and eliminate any guesses. I've experimented with this method before and you inspire me to try it again on a friends detailed comic strip. will post it up if i do master 244233256
