Try not to be offended, he just didn't understand your question. I did. You need a mask to do this. I'll try to explain. put your layers in a group or bone layer. double click on the group layer in the layer palette. go to the masking tab and choose the hide all option. your pic at the bottom, double click on it and choose don't mask, next layer up needs to be a rectangle that covers the workspace with a hole that is the same size as the face on the pic, choose the clear mask , then add layer invisible option, next layer at the top is the text choose the mask this layer option. hit preview to see effect. let me know if you need more explanation

LOL, did not intend to offend you, we get tons of spam here, and since this was your first post and since it sounded curious to me (I am French) I thought it was spam! :)

AS does have a bit of a learning curve. There is a manual in the help sub menu. It helps to go through it to learn the basics. Masking is one of the most confusing features. Maybe it would help you to read through the quick start manual first also in the help sub=menu.

what a super duper attitude, one that makes people want to jump right up and help.

This program isn't all that complicated as long as you understand the basics and read the manual.

and actually, your question WAS answered in the other thread - Gilles pointed you to his masking tutorial which will tell you how to use masking to hide the text - seems maybe the advice is going in one ear and out the next.

He he he.
I thought about "masking" my enjoyment but chose to enjoy the moment.

Post by chitoon111 »

and this is how i did it.I had a pic of a electronic bill board,i made a black block to cover the electronic part of the billboard, then i went to paint program and copied the pic ,then i croped the part of the end of both sides of the billboard, and then turned both parts into separate layers ,then put one layer over the left end of the billboard and the other over the right side of the billboard, then did my scroll and you could not see the lettering running off the side of the billboad. And it l@@ks good. That is my way of masking......

Ah, you found it yourself! That's a perfectly legal solution to your problem and sometimes the fastest way when working with bitmaps.
