Bind Point tool not ever selectable

Post by jjwinks »

Hey there,

When I was using AS Debut 7, I had no problems using the bind points tool. Since switching to Pro 8, I've never been able to select the Bind points tool. I'm super frustrated. Is there something simple that I may be overlooking? Bind layer is available.

Thanks,

Jared

Did you select the bone?

I've seen this sometimes in AS8. I find going to frame 1 then back to zero it helps sometimes. It doesn't show up all the time, so I don't know if it's a bug or not. Also try going to the bone menu at the top and using release layer .

Yeah, I can't do anything to make it selectable. It's killing me.

Alright, so the solution was to close AS and reopen the file. Thanks for your help guys... sorry to bother.

Seems like a bug, eh?

The problem is reoccurring, and closing it out isn't helping 100% of the time... this is really stressing me out. Trying to meet a deadline, and I've wasted 1.5 hours on this issue.

Try what I said, select the layer, go to the bone menu at the top, select release layer, then got to frame one then back to frame zero. I just tried it a couple of times and it works.

Release layer should work (the bind points is disable if you layer bind). I found you need to click out of the that layer, then click back in, for that button to show.

like jonbo says, the tools sometimes get stuck for me from time to time, goign to frame 1 and back seems to change them - its to do with the tool hiding stuff which has introduced a bug of sorts when it doesn't properly.

Releasing the layer and going to frame 1 then 0 seems to do the trick. Thanks Jonbo! Appreciate all the help guys!

I haven't worked out a repeatable way to make this bug happen but if you can consistantly make it happen, post a bug report! :)

I've submitted an incident report to SMITH MICRO on this.
