Move a shape to a layer: how?

Post by shamca »

Obviously I'm new...

I've imported some EPS art, scanned it, cleaned it up and now have a bunch of nice clean shapes that I want to move to different layers.

I can't find a way to do this! must be going blind :)

Appreciate any help,
Shaun

select the points of the shape you want, cut it (crtl+x) create a new vector layer, now paste it (ctrl+v).

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if it was a cut 'n' paste thing or not, for some reason it seemed there should be a right click send to layer sort of thing.

Cheers,

I think there's a script by rudiger that can distribute shapes to layers but i've never used it... my advice is not to separate everything for the sake of it - I tend to leave things all together until there's a good reason for needing it separate.
