Finding The Tool Bar In Anime Studio Debut 8
My mom got me anime studio debut 8 for my birthday but when i tried to use it, there wasn't a tool bar. I tried looking at tutorials but they always started with the tool bar already there. My mom re uploaded it and it appeared but after i clicked out and went to use it again later, it was gone again. I think i might be clicking something when i open the program that is stopping it from opening and i hope someone can help me.

Thanks Jonbo xyz's Mom here, we've been trying to get this working for 2 days smh. She unchecked the beginners box and deselected library but still nada. I'm having her upload a picture of the screen since I'm at work but it looks very odd. The tool bar is squished to one side of the screen with no way to expand the box. If I bring the tool box into it's own window it's only a few cm big. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now which is rediculous since I am very computer literate and sure we're missing something super simplejonbo wrote:Try unchecking the beginner's mode box at the top next to the character wizard and library buttons.

Tried that again since it's out of beginners mode. Still no dice *sighs* I've been all over the website and tutorials and can't find anything about a hidden tool bar either. When docked it's about a quarter inch wide, grey and inaccessable. I tried going through the preferences and couldn't find anything there either. Can't call customer support till Thursday, poor kid.jonbo wrote:Okay, try going to the window menu at the top, where it says FILE/EDIT/DRAW/BONE/ANIMATION/ etc, and click on the window menu. The drop down menu should show the tools has a check mark next to it, click on it to re- dock the tool palette.
You might have to check the resolution of your monitor if its set to a large size some things may be squashed. If the tools are there but are greyed out , it means she's not on frame zero. go to EDIT/ PREFERENCES and un-check the enable drawing tools only on frame zero option to be able to draw anywhere in the time line.

Unchecked the drawing tools at frame zero but it didn't do anything. Will look at the computer resolution when I get home. It's a huge new imac so I can't imagine that being the problem though. Will try tec support if that doesn't work and return if it's still a no go. Thank you so much for your help I really appreciate it. I'd actually done most of your suggestions but going through them helped me know I wasn't losing my marbles.jonbo wrote:You might have to check the resolution of your monitor if its set to a large size some things may be squashed. If you are running into the toolbar not showing up in AS8, Your permissions are corrupt or installation did not complete.
You can try re-installing, but may have to do it after doing a safe boot. ( restart and hold shift key)
I would also recommend launching disk utility and running verify disk to have it check and fix permissions.
You can always contact Smith Micro tech support and they are keen on helping you resolve an issue like this as well.
