Hello,
New on Anime Studio Debut 8. Can anybody help with answers or liknks to good tutorial on reparent bones?
What I am mainly trying to find out is;
- Where shall I start placing the bones; the head or the body first?
- Can I cut some parent links?
- Is it possible to reverse the arrows from the Parent to the Child, how to?

I start at the hip bone then work my way up : chest, neck, head. Then select the hip bone again, then create bones down one leg. Select the hip again, and repeat the other leg. Now select the chest bone, and create bones down one arm, select the chest again and repeat for other arm.
Yes, you can break the link anywhere, select a bone and then choose the reparent tool and click in an open space of the work space.
Yes you can reverse the parent/child, but you have to break all the links in the chain first then re-parent in the order you want. But remember the bone rotates around at its base, the fat end of the bone, so reversing the order might cause strange results.

i usually start with a 'rig moving' bone which normally starts at the pelvis and goes out to the side - quite big with an influence of 0. Then I build up and down from that and use that to move the character around.
You can't reverse or reparent in the middle of an animation so if you want the riggign to change you'll have to duplicate the character and 'swap them out' when needed (you could use a switch layer i suppose, but maybe easier to just show/hide layers or even have it waiting off screen)
