Lip sync at half speed of the audio

I'm a newbie. I have some animation where the characters will be talking really really fast, like, world record fast. Can Anime Studio 8 slow does the speed of the audio to half speed for lip syncing, then play it back at full speed?

No, AS has no speed control for audio. But if the character is talking that fast, then the auto lip sync might work. The eye won't register full phonemes at high speed so you would only need about four positions, closed, half open, full open and maybe an o shape.
