Another question for an idiot.

Post by jds491r »

It's me again and I have a question. How do I get my head to not be all wobbly when I move the body? And why is the body totally out of control. Is it something to do with layers?

I guess what I'm saying is, I would like it to remain more stiff.

Hello.

quick answer.

It seems that your bones influences need to be reduced.

Paul.

if you select all the head points and bind them manually to the head bone they won't be affected by flexi-binding...
I think manual binding is a very important skill to learn - I hardly, if ever, use flexi binding.

funksmyname is right, this has to do with bones influence, which affects unwanted parts of the head.

Just use point or layer binding, will solve your problem.

I too almost never use bone influence!

Thank you very much. These forums have been very helpful

Is there a tutorial on Manuel binding?

There's a fairly in-depth description of it, and how to use it in the manual.

A good google search would yield results on other binding tutorials: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22anime ... ss&ie=&oe=

One of the results is a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yZnZor1CVU

(even thought the video tutorial is for version 6, it's still an accurate process)

The manual and Google are your best friends, sometimes it's far easier to look it up on your own rather than wait around for someone to answer your question.

Shouldn't the title for this thread read " Another question FROM an idiot" instead of "Another question FOR an idiot"

I thought of that, but did not want to go there.
Sure does not help us feeling appreciated in any sort of ways! :)

I'm not a fan of flexi binding either. I place each point to the bone I want manually because a lot of the times I want a few points from one shape to be bound with the bone of a different shape. If that makes any sense.
Sorry for bad animation

Yeah I guess you're right sorry about the title guys. But thanks for the help I got it going now, and I actually made a character walk across the room.
