Saving Work in 8 for ASPro7

Hi there
I just bought Anime Pro 7 not too long ago and I am very pleased. However the new Anime 8 seems to have a lot of the missing elements. I purchased Anime Debut 8 since it was on an introducary sale. Hopefully later I can upgrade the pro version. For now it is too costly.
I wanted to import some work done with Anime Debut 8 in Anime Pro 7 to further tweak it, but the program wont let me import. It states: It appears the work you are trying to import has been made with a newer version of Anime" Is there a way around this, so I can use some of the great features from Debut 8 in Pro 7?

Well, for just about any software on the market, an earlier version is unlikely to open future version files. It would be odd if it could, because it would mean the developer is capable of looking into the future. Spooky...

HOWEVER, if you know something about Anime Studio files (which are text format), you could open one in a text editor and delete unnecessary future features until you could open it. But when you think about the time involved, and the fact that you were probably interested in that file BECAUSE of those new features, it's probably better to just buy the new software. Or at least just download the trial version.

True, but it is fairly standard practice for a new version of a program to still have the option to save to previous versions. I'm very surprised that Anime Studio doesn't have this feature, especially since there are now at least 3 versions of the software being used to create content, due to a new version of the software being released every year.

By the way, I am currently working on a Python program with GUI for converting between Anime Studio file versions.

Totally agree -- AS has never had this feature, and it's a glaring omission.
