My video update
I've just uploaded another unlisted video that shows the first two clips in the story I'm trying to tell. My focus is shifting to my ability to tell the story. The transition between the two clips is too abrupt for one thing. I don't know how to fix it yet. I won't add much detail to the background until I have a better understanding of how to use the camera tools. Feedback is very helpful. Please check it out here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnFjSrTdb-U

hey larry, love the music. it would be a fun song to animate to. you're right, the transition is wrong for the music. the song is "snappy" so the cuts should be "snappy". i would throw in a quick 2-3 sec side profile/close-up of the buzzard's face with maybe a scowl and look back to foreshadow the birds intentions between the 2 clips. the composition between the two clips is very close, so it makes the transition kind of jump. breaking up the shot with another shot angle would help. this is just my opinion, as the storyteller, you have the vision of your final product
Thanks jonbo, what worked in my imagination doesn't work when you actually look at it. I think it needs a clip before the song starts. I will try an aerial scene where the chimp says something like; " This is great! I'm flying...(pause) The chimp then says, "What's that?" as he points to the ground. The vulture says "That's dinner...and it's time for you to get off my back!" The camera looks at the back of the vulture's head as he goes into a dive. The ground below begins to scale up and rotate slightly. The chimp is yelling Hey! I then fade into the clip that I posted on YouTube where the music starts. That's what I'm thinking anyway.
I've never tried anything like this before so I really appreciate the support of this forum. I'm going to post my progress. I hope I don't bore everybody.
