Keep text or picture in the same place for a few seconds?

Post by allegro »

Sorry to bother you guys again.

Just wondering how I can keep text or image in the same location for a few seconds? I tried the following method:

Set frame = 2, then move the text or picture to desired location.
Set frame = 167, then move the text or picture out.

This seems to work except the text or picture seems to move downwards from frame 2 to frame 167... is it possible to keep them fixed?

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

I am not sure if I understood you.

I go to Channels and then right clicked and selected step at frame 2.

The text still moves downwards when played back and when moved out... still keep on moving...

I just want the image or text to stay there and then take it out as needed after a certain time...

If I understand Slowtiger. Select Keyframe #2 Rightclick (PC), Ctrl+leftclick (Mac) And then click on "step" in the menu.

Or, copy keyframe #2 and paste it.

Do as slowtiger suggest.

Interpolation is a HUGE part in any animation. It is explained in the help manual.

When you translated the image to frame to 167 you will have a key frame at 0 and one at 167 now. Copy key frame at 0 and paste to 2. Now make 2 step by right clicking on it and selecting step. If you get movement from frame 0 to frame 2 you can make frame 0 step also so the only translation will be from 2-167.
Sorry for bad animation

Thanks, I think the problem why it didn't work before was because I did frame 2 and then frame 167 and then do slowtiger's instruction. What I need to do was to do frame 2, then do slowtiger's instruction then do frame 167... and that would work....

no, this shouldn't matter... you can change the keyframe interpolation at any part of the process. honestly, if you plan to do it yourself to save money RTFM!
