edit text in for anime?

Post by allegro »

Dear All,

I got anime video commissioned by someone who did a bad job and I want to fix the text he wrote.

I am confused as to how to do this though, I thought it would be easy like clicking and editing, but it does not seem I can do any of this?

I saw some layers as text... but not sure whether I need to overwrite them etc...

I think this should be an easy task, so happy to receive any help.

I have never used Anime Pro before...

Thanks!

Text editing is not a great feature of this software. As soon as you enter text into AS, it gets converted to lines, so is not editable. Best to add text in a video editor or something, if you can re-render out the AS files without it.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Thanks for this,

How do I delete the text? Why is basic operation like this so difficult under Anime Pro....

I already told my animator not to add text as I want these text to come up as subtitles in .srt file... he didn't follow my instructions....

if they are on their own layer, delete the layer... otherwise you'll have to select the shapes and delete them (on frame 0) - they probably have a single fill so you could select the fill with the shape selection tool and delete the fills (leaving the points but thye will not be visible)

ALL ON FRAME 0 - that will get rid of them for the rest of the animation

although it sounds like if they were supposed to be subtitles there is a lot of them? hopefully they are grouped or in their own layer for deletion.

Thanks for this,

Actually I think I worked out how to do this, here is the instruction step by step for other beginners.

Set Frame at 0 its at the bottom. This is located on the same level as the play button.

On Tools bar menu, click on "Select Points G" it is the very first icon for Draw.

Then go to Edit and select all and press the delete button.

And then if you want to add text, select T button on Tools menu. Just do the first line.

If you want to add more text, then click on Translate Points button on the Draw menu then press the T button again.

You would notice Anime Studio Pro 7.0 put the text on the same line as your first text, but you can drag this down as needed.

You may also want to change the Fill on the Style tool bar so the text come as solid block letters.

Is this documented somewhere? Why do we need to spend hours trying to work this out ourselves?

I'm sorry but I am not following what you are trying to say.

Text in AS is all vector so all you need to do is drag a square over the text using select points or use loop with select points and just hit delete on your keyboard. Its basically the same as word art in MS word.

I am glad you fixed it though. :D :D :D
Sorry for bad animation
